It's New England... It Snows!
Fortunately, we are prepared for it. In the event of inclement weather, it is our goal to make sure the weather has limited impact on your driver's ed program because the easiest road to your license should also be the safest. Though learning to drive in inclement weather is important, we will never jeopardize the safety of our students or staff. In the event the roads become unfit for safe learning, we will cancel lessons and classes. Should we decide to cancel, we will notify students via e-mail, on our website and on all of our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Important Note: If you decide to cancel a lesson or test due to the possibility of inclement weather, before we decide to cancel, you will be rescheduling into our normal flow of appointment openings. (Remember, a blizzard in the 8 day forecast will often become a heatwave by the time the day actually arrives.) Here's how it goes for each of our products:
Full Program Students
Generally when a class is canceled due to weather, that class will be added to the end of the course. For example, if lesson 6 is canceled, it will be added to the end of the program, after lesson 15. If the cancellation is the Parent Class (Session 1), we will just move the entire course forward and start the class on the following scheduled day. In either case, the class will fall in line with the days of the week the course is run (M/W, T/Th, Su, Etc). You will be automatically enrolled in this make up class. If this date does not work for your schedule, you can reschedule anytime through your student portal here, or over the phone during office hours at 860-631-4292.
8 Hour Safe Driving Course Students
When a class is cancelled due to weather, that class will not be automatically added to the end of the course. You will be responsible for scheduling a new makeup class, which can be done online through your student portal here, or over the phone during office hours at 860.631.4292.
Driving lessons that are cancelled due to weather will not be automatically rescheduled. However, we do our absolute best to create new appointments within one week of the cancelled lessons. You can book a new drive time at your earliest convenience through your student portal here, or over the phone during office hours at 860.631.4292.
If you have a License Test scheduled, you will be notified via phone should it be cancelled, and our team with get you scheduled for another date. The DMV will provide us with a new date, usually within one week of the cancellation. If you are testing at the DMV, they will post cancellations on all major news networks. You will have to call the DMV call center to schedule a new date.
**During inclement weather situations, our call center receives higher than usual call volumes with longer than average hold times. Remember that all available driving lessons and makeup classes can be booked using our Student Portal. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience brought on by the weather conditions, but assure you we will work hard and fast to communicate cancellations and facilitate timely makeups.**
